20 Night Cruise sailing from Broome to Wyndham aboard Kimberley Quest II.

Highlights of this cruise:

Broome
Broome is an historical pearling town situated in the Kimberley region in Western Australia. It is developing as a tourist resort, popular with Australians, in the dry season (from May to September).

In the dry months the weather is ideal. It has sunny days with temperatures around 30C and balmy evenings and nights when the temperature falls to the low twenties.

The town is situated on the Indian Ocean and the main beach, Cable Beach, is a beautiful expanse of golden sand. The sunsets on Cable Beach are magnificent and can be enjoyed on the beach or from one of the restaurants on the esplanade.

Montgomery Reef
Montgomery Reef is located in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia. It is Australia’s largest inshore reef at more than 400 km². The reef is subject to unusual tidal movements. When the tide is out vast lagoons, sandstone islets and a central mangrove island are revealed. The outward movement of the tide forms a loud torrent of water, creating a river cutting through the reef and hundreds of cascading waterfalls. At low tide more than four metres of reef can be exposed.

Montgomery Reef offers a stunning array of marine life. Here you may see whales, dolphins, dugong, turtles, manta rays and the black tipped reef shark cruising along the reef ledges.

King Cascades
The beautiful terraced waterfall of the King Cascade is located on the Prince Regent River in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia. Visitors to this unusual waterfall will see water cascading over terraced rock formations.

Activities at King Cascade include swimming and taking a refreshing shower under the falls. You can also take a walk around the Kings Cascades and take in the amazing scenery.

King George River
The King George River is a river in the Kimberley of Western Australia. It is 125 km in length, discharging into the Timor Sea. The scenery is breathtaking, particularly the King George Falls which has a drop of 80 meters.

At the mouth of the King George River, is Faraway Bay. Northeast of Faraway Bay is the Kalumburu Aboriginal mission. This is a truly remote area of the Kimberley. It offers ancient rock art, archaeological and historical sites, abundant fresh and salt water fishing and an abundance of unique wildlife. Bird watching is excellent here, with over 140 varieties of birds been sighted.

Wyndham
Wyndham is the oldest and northernmost town in the Kimberley region of Western Australia, located on the Great Northern Highway, 3,224 kilometres (2,003 mi) northeast of Perth. It was established in 1885 as a result of a gold rush at Halls Creek, and it is now a port and service centre for the east Kimberley with a population of 800. Wyndham is split into two areas. The original town site of Wyndham Port is situated on Cambridge Gulf, while Wyndham's Three Mile area is the residential and shopping area of the town. Wyndham is part of the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley.

Wyndham is located at the west arm of Cambridge Gulf, an inlet of Joseph Bonaparte Gulf of the Timor Sea. It is surrounded by the Durack, Pentecost and King rivers to the south, Forrest River to the west and Ord River to the north. Much of the land around Wyndham is inhospitable, and includes the jagged hills of the Bastion Range and the mudflats of the Cambridge Gulf.
